Kathmandu Valley provides a unique opportunity for mountain biking enthusiasts of all levels. The region offers a variety of trails, ranging from easy rides near the city to challenging climbs in forested hills. Each route reveals the natural beauty, cultural heritage, and rural life of the area.

You can choose from several routes such as the beginner-friendly Mudkhu-Tokha trail, the technical Budhanilkantha-Kapan route passing Buddhist monasteries, the moderate Jamacho route leading to Nagarjun Hill’s scenic viewpoints, or the popular Phulchowki trail with its thrilling downhill sections.

As you cycle through traditional Newari villages, terraced farms, and lush forests inside Shivapuri National Park, you will also enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayas and discover vibrant temples, monasteries, and historic sites.

Your guide will provide a mountain bike and helmet and lead you on a cycling tour through Kathmandu Valley. Options include the Mudkhu-Tokha trail for beginners, the Budhanilkantha-Kapan route with monastery visits, or the Jamacho and Phulchowki routes for more challenging rides with stunning views. The tour covers villages, rice fields, forests, and historic sites. You will finish back in Kathmandu after exploring the vibrant local culture and beautiful landscapes.

Daytime temperatures in Kathmandu on average are 25°C in March and May depending on the season. From September to December, the temperature cools down to 20°C, and in December to February, it is warmer during the day and colder at night, from 4°C to 22°C.

Hi I worked with three guides on my last trip to nepal in April may 2023. 1 of the 3 turned out to be an incredible guide,  Goma Thapa. She is fluent in English, an author, and hold a masters degree in anthropology. She started out as a porter with 3 sisters in pokhara and started guiding in 2016. She is athletic, professional, and got me great rooms for good prices on my abc trek and ebc trek. I had even been airlifted early in my trip with another agency, and still She believed in me and took me carefully and believed in me. She helped me dig deep and have a life changing experience. Be careful when choosing a guide because a lot of them drink or don't speak English very well. She understands western culture and is a world class guide. She's the kind of person I want on all my dream expeditions, like patagonia and new zealand.
