I trekked the Langtang region in 2013 with a number of female guides in my group. While they were all extremely capable, the true benefit is their unmatched compassion towards their clients. I hope female guides are able to overcome any barriers preventing them from all of the opportunities afforded to male guides. I would happily sign on to a female lead trek again.

I had the pleasure of trekking the Langtang region with Goma. As a woman coming to a foreign country, knowing both the tourism and guiding were dominated by men was intimidating. But getting to live out the work discussed in this article had a profound impact on my experience and our ability to connect with the women of Nepali Himalayas, from the grandmothers to the young women, conversations were opened which would never otherwise have been broached.

I trekked with Goma Thapa in the Langtang Valley and she was amazing. I was the only woman in my group and I loved having another female to hike with and spend time with. She is an amazing inspiration and is to this day a wonderful friend.

My first visit to Bhutan exceeded my expectations in all respects. Stunning scenery, adventurous travel, devout and friendly people and the courtesy and efficiency of the staff of Bhutan Travel Bureau combined to make this not only a truly memorable holiday but a precious life experience.

We are satisfied for all the places filmed, this tour had given us a good overall view of Nepal and we plan to come back.
