Lobuche Peak is located in Sagarmatha National Park in the eastern part of the Nepal Himalayas. The region is popular for multiple adventure activities as well as its biodiversity. It is a great opportunity to witness various wildlife like musk deer, snow leopard, along with varieties of flora and fauna. The mountain area is inhabited by Sherpa people, known as the land of mountain guides.
Lobuche Peak climbing is popular for observing spectacular sunset and sunrise over the Himalayas from the summit. While climbing to the top of Lobuche Peak, one can eye upon the world’s highest mountain Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, and other snow-covered mountains from the vantage point. During the trek, you will cross hidden ancient Buddhist stupas and Buddhist monasteries.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 m/4,264 ft)
After arriving at the airport, we will be welcomed by a representative of Ama Adventure. Furthermore, check into a hotel and explore the surrounding neighborhoods. This evening, we will have a meeting, and briefing.

Day 2: Kathmandu to Lukla (2830 m/9,282 ft), Trek to Phakding (2680 m/8,790 ft): 4-5 hrs
The flight to Lukla takes around 35 minutes. From Lukla, Phakding village is reached by passing several villages as you trace the bank of the Dudh Koshi River. After arriving at Phakding, you will get your first experience of mountain life.

Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m/11,286 ft): 5-6 hrs
Trek to Namche follows the handrails of the Dudh Koshi River, passing through pine forests and the village of Benkar. After crossing the Dudh Koshi River and passing through Chumoa and Monjo villages, we reach the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. After the suspension bridge, we reach Jorsalle, the last village before Namche. A steep hike leads to Namche Bazaar with views of Everest, waterfalls, and alpine flora and fauna. Namche Bazaar is the biggest town in the Khumbu Valley.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
Namche is the primary administrative town in Khumbu. For acclimatization, we hike up to Sagarmatha National Park for panoramic views of Everest (Chomolungma), Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Kongde. Optional hike to Everest View Hotel and Khumjung village for more altitude gain. Explore the Hillary School, monastery, and the yeti skull display.

Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Phortse (3850 m/12,628 ft): 5-6 hrs
We pass through a beautiful rhododendron forest and ascend to the Dudh Koshi River. The trail to upper Phunki Tenga leads to Kyangjuma and finally to Phortse, home to one of the oldest monasteries in the region. The views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku are breathtaking.

Day 6: Phortse to Dingboche (4410 m/14,468 ft): 5-6 hrs
We continue ascending with views of the snowy peaks and pass through rhododendron, birch, and conifer forests. After descending to Pangboche and crossing the Imja River, we continue to Somare and climb toward the Imja Valley and Lobuche River. Dingboche is a farming village known for barley, potato, and buckwheat fields.

Day 7: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche
Today we hike to a nearby ridge to help acclimatize. From the ridge, admire six of the world’s highest peaks including Makalu and Lhotse, along with views of the Imja Khola Valley and Dingboche village.

Trekking above the treeline, we pass a wide glacial valley and then ascend to the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. The trail leads to the memorial for fallen climbers and continues to Lobuche with views of Pumori and Nuptse.

Day 9: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5170 m/16,961 ft), Everest Base Camp (5364 m/17,598 ft): 6-7 hrs
We trek to Gorak Shep and then hike to Everest Base Camp. The trail follows the Khumbu Glacier and passes rough terrain with magnificent views of Pumori. After reaching base camp, return to Gorak Shep.

Day 10: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5545 m/18,192 ft), Trek back to Lobuche: 7-8 hrs
We hike early to Kala Patthar for sunrise views of Everest and surrounding peaks. After spending time at the top, return to Gorak Shep for breakfast and continue the descent to Lobuche.

Day 11: Lobuche to Lobuche Peak Base Camp (4400 m/14,432 ft) and training: 4-5 hrs
Today, we trek up to Lobuche BC, sacred places of this region that is a place to observe a panorama of the surrounding mountain. After lunch, we will do short training about Lobuche peak climbing techniques.

We start the summit push early in the morning with climbing gear. After reaching the summit and enjoying the panoramic views, we return to base camp and descend to Lobuche.

Today, we will have a late breakfast, then start trekking around 10 AM. We descend through familiar trails to Pangboche.

Day 14: Pangboche to Namche Bazaar: 5-6 hrs
Trek to the Namche Bazar continues the descent to Tengboche, Phunki Tenga, and your trek leads through Khumbu Valley, Bhote Koshi River, and beautiful forest. Meanwhile, the trek back to Namche Bazaar is easier, and passing through rhododendron forest continues with a climb for an hour to the Love Changsha. The walk to the Namche Bazaar is very scenic on a long winding path. Head back to Namche Bazaar overnight.

Day 15: Namche Bazaar to Lukla: 6-7 hrs
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla is the last day of your trekking, starting with a steep descent and mammals traffic where you are always on the safe side. Here, trekking passes through beautiful small villages such as Jorsalle, Monjo, and Phakding, expecting a short ascent and continuing down the handrails of the Bhotekoshi River, crossing it three times. Before reaching Lukla, you have to ascend a gentle slope for 45 minutes to get to the final destination. After a long day, you must rest overnight at Lukla.

Day 16: Lukla to Kathmandu (Flight)
After breakfast, we take a 35-minute flight back to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel. After you take some rest, we head over to your farewell dinner to rejoice over the completion of your trek.

Day 17: Free day or Kathmandu Valley Tour (UNESCO Heritage Sites)
After Breakfast, we tour Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Hindu pilgrim site Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath, which are the enlisted under UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Moreover, Swayambhunath is known as the self-created stupa, Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most popular pilgrimage sites for Hindu, and Boudhanath stupa is known as one of the largest stupas in the world.

Meals
During the trek, we’ll enjoy a mix of local Nepali food and popular international dishes such as Tibetan, Continental, Italian, and Indian. Breakfast and dinner will be served at the tea houses or lodge menus where we stay overnight, while lunches will be provided en route to our next destination. During the trek, all meals are included. In Kathmandu, breakfast is provided, and farewell dinner will be arranged for our guests.
Accommodation
In Kathmandu, we will stay at Hotel Manaslu. During the trek, we’ll stay in local teahouses. All accommodations are on a twin-sharing basis. A single room can be arranged on request for an extra cost of USD 290. While we’ll book the best available tea houses, please note that the facilities may be quite basic compared to the more developed routes. Single rooms are generally available in Kathmandu, but they might not be possible to find during the trek.
Weather Information
Weather on the Lobuche Peak Climbing route can vary a lot depending on the season. In spring (March to May), the days are generally pleasant, with temperatures climbing up to 12–15 °C, but it can get quite cold at night, sometimes down to -10 °C. Autumn (September to November) is one of the best times to go, with clear skies, crisp air, and daytime temperatures around 10–12 °C, while nights can dip to -15 °C. If you’re climbing in winter (December to February), be prepared for bitter cold, temperatures can drop to -25 °C or even lower, and snow is frequent at higher elevations.
