//php the_title(); ?> Trip Overview
This program focuses on supporting families in rural villages of Nepal who already operate homestay houses but need practical support to keep them active, welcoming, and financially sustainable. The region has high potential for community based tourism due to its natural beauty, walking trails, and strong local culture, yet these opportunities remain largely underdeveloped. Through this initiative, local families receive guidance in managing their homestays, improving basic hospitality standards, and offering meaningful experiences for visitors while maintaining their traditional way of life.
The program also works to strengthen the connection between trekking routes and village communities. A base camp has been built for the Great Lakes Trail to create a stopping point for trekkers and to encourage longer stays in the area. This helps direct visitors toward local homestays, creates demand for local food and services, and generates income that stays within the community. By supporting existing homes rather than outside development, the program promotes responsible tourism, strengthens local ownership, and contributes to long term community livelihoods in a region with strong potential for sustainable growth.
