Day Hike -Shivapuri Peak Brief Insight
The Shivapuri hike is located north of the Kathmandu Valley, starting from Budhanilkantha, a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus. At the entrance, you’ll see a reclining statue of Lord Vishnu floating in a coil of snakes.
This short hike is rewarded with cultural villages, diverse nature, and incredible views. On a clear day, you can see the Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang ranges. When you reach the top, you’ll get an incredible view of the Kathmandu Valley.
During this journey, you will reach the Shivapuri peak at 2,732m above sea level. Along the hike, you’ll cross the Baghdwar, a pristine water source of the Bagmati River, an important natural water source for the Kathmandu Valley.

Day 1 Kathmandu to Shivapuri Peak (2,732m), 8- 9 Hours
After breakfast, drive to Budanikhnta, which is the starting point of the trek. Before getting to the entrance of Shivapuri Nationalpark points we walk on the 2.3 km that is the place to get an entrance ticket. This is the last point where we can purchase the trail snacks and drinks.We start ancient from the entrance it takes 3,4 hours to get to the Shivpuri peaks. it is even a close and short hike get ready ancient stairs that gradually to the top of the destinations. Before reaching the hilltop we cross a few villages Nagi Gumba Bagdwar, Nagi Gumba. if you want to extend your trip there is a place to spend the night. The surrounding of Gumba decorated with prayer flags makes it so vibrant. We will descend on the same way to Budanilkantha and drive back to Kathmandu.

Important Note
The Shivapuri day hike is not recommended for solo travelers. You must either travel with a group or a guide for safety reasons.
