Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft)
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by Ama Adventure’s representative and transferred to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax and prepare for the trip ahead. If you arrive early, your guide will hold a briefing session about the trek and answer any questions.

Day 2: Swayambhunath tour and trip preparation (1,400 m / 4,593 ft)
After breakfast, you will head towards Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple. Perched atop a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley, this ancient stupa is one of the most iconic landmarks of Nepal. Believed to have been self-created, it holds deep spiritual significance for both Buddhists and Hindus. From the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the valley, surrounded by prayer flags, shrines, and playful monkeys that give the site its nickname.

Fly early in the morning to Pokhara, a city known for its lakes and mountain views. From Pokhara, drive to Lumle, the trekking starting point. The hike today is gentle, passing through peaceful villages and offering views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre. You will spend the night at a comfortable guesthouse in Majgaon.

From Landruk, the trail descends toward Modi Khola River before climbing steadily up to Ghandruk village. This Gurung village is famous for its culture and stunning views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and other peaks. You can explore the village museum and conservation office in the afternoon.

Difficulty Level
This trek is moderately demanding and requires a good level of fitness. Trails vary from easy walks to steeper sections, so prior hiking experience helps. Walking at altitude means pacing yourself and staying hydrated is important.
Meals
You will enjoy traditional Nepalese meals along with familiar international dishes such as Tibetan, Continental, and Indian food. Breakfast and dinner are served at the hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara, while lunches are provided on trekking days. A special farewell dinner is arranged on the last night in Kathmandu.
Accommodation
Accommodations include 5-star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara and well-equipped guesthouses on the trek. Rooms are twin sharing by default, but single rooms can be arranged for an additional cost of USD 100. Each place offers a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for relaxing after the day’s activities.
Weather Information
Peak season to travel to the Annapurna region falls between September and November and then again between February and April.
Temperatures average 70°F during the day at the start of the trek and get below 20°F towards the top of the trek. When trekking in the Annapurna region in the fall, expect clearer weather with a chance of rain in September and some snow in November. Early February trekkers may experience some snow, and a variety of flowers are in bloom in April.
