Day 2: Fly to Pokhara; drive to Kimche & trek to Ghandruk ( 1,940m/6,365ft), Flight: 30 min Hiking: 50 min
We catch an early morning flight bound for Pokhara, a picturesque lakeside city boasting awe-inspiring views of the Himalayas from the right side of the plane. Upon arrival at Pokhara airport, we commence a pleasant two-hour drive to Kimche, marking the starting point of our trek. Our journey from Kimche takes us to Ghandruk, a delightful village predominantly inhabited by the Gurung community. If time permits, a visit to the Gurung museum is on the agenda before we retire for the night in Ghandruk.
Day 3: Ghandruk to Chhomrong ( 2,170m/7,120ft), 5-6 Hours
At this point, we ascend for approximately an hour until we reach Kimrungdanda. Along the way, we’re treated to stunning vistas of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, the Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre), and Ganggapurna. Following a steep descent to the Kimrong Khola, we ascend sharply from there to Chere Danda. After a brief descent, the path becomes more gradual, leading us to Chhomrong—a picturesque village nestled beneath the towering Annapurna massif. We’ll spend the night in Chhomrong.
Day 4: Chhomrong to Bamboo ( 2,310m/7,579ft), 4-5 Hours
We make our way down using a staircase of 2500 stone steps and cross over the bridge above Chhomrong Khola. This leads us to an uphill trek towards Sinuwa. Continuing through a stunning forest, we reach Kuldihar and then proceed with a gentle descent to Bamboo. We’ll spend the night in Bamboo.
Day 5: Bamboo to Deurali ( 3,230m/10,598ft), 3-4 Hours
Descending via a staircase of 2500 stone steps, we cross a bridge above Chhomrong Khola, transitioning into an uphill journey toward Sinuwa. Traversing through a magnificent forest, we arrive at Kuldihar and then descend gently to Bamboo, where we’ll spend the night.
Day 6: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp via Machhapuchhre Base Camp ( 4,130m/13,551ft), 5-6 Hours
Today’s trek involves a gentle ascent through a riverbed, followed by a steep trail along the mountainside. The hike from Bagar to Machhapuchhre Base Camp demands some effort. Once at Machhapuchhre Base Camp, the sight of the majestic Machhapuchhre, alongside Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli, and Gangapurna, rewards us richly. Vegetation gradually fades as we progress towards ABC, and the path widens as we step into the Annapurna sanctuary. Here, we’re treated to breathtaking views of Annapurna’s nearly vertical south face towering above. The sanctuary offers an unobstructed 360-degree panorama, showcasing the dynamic beauty of the surroundings. Returning to the base camp, we once again indulge in mesmerizing views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, and other neighboring peaks. We’ll spend the night at Annapurna Base Camp.
Day 7: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo ( 2,310m/7,579ft, 7 - 8 Hours
We follow our previous path from Annapurna Base Camp back to Bamboo. Today’s trek involves descending, which should be relatively easy. Plus, the stunning landscape will keep us company, providing constant cheer along the way. We’ll spend the night in Bamboo.
Day 8: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda ( 1,760m/5,775ft), 5-6 Hours
