The Shivapuri hike is located north of the Kathmandu Valley, starting from Budhanilkantha, a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus. At the entrance, you'll see a reclining statue of Lord Vishnu floating in a coil of snakes.
This short hike is rewarded with cultural villages, diverse nature, and incredible views. On a clear day, you can see the Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang ranges. When you reach the top, you'll get an incredible view of the Kathmandu Valley.
During this journey, you will reach the Shivapuri peak at 2,732m above sea level. Along the hike, you'll cross the Baghdwar, a pristine water source of the Bagmati River, an important natural water source for the Kathmandu Valley.
