Annapurna Circuit Trek – 14 Days Brief Insight

Annapurna circuit is one of the longest passes in Nepal and one of the best classical walks in the world. The journey begins from the Marsyangdi River that leads to the northern part of the Himalayan range up to the upper Kali Gandaki River valley. The trek is popular for the Kali Gandaki Gorge (the world’s deepest gorge). On this trek, you will get a chance to admire the incredible view of the World’s Highest Mountains including Manaslu, Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, and amazing landscapes.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu (1,300m/ 4,264ft)

After arriving, a representative of Ama Adventure will come to the airport. Furthermore, check in to a hotel explorer near your neighbouring .

Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Tour & Trip preparation

After Breakfast we start a tour around the world Heritage sites from Swayambhunath that is a popular pilgrimage site for both hindu and buddhist devotees.Tour continues to Pashupatinath temple famous pilgrimage site for hindu devotees. The day tour ends at the Boudhanath stupa, considered as the largest stupa in South Asia.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Dharapani (1,960m/6,430ft) by drive 8 - 9 Hours

Today drive to Dharapani through switchback road along the bank of Trisuli and Marsyangdi River. Travel can be a little bumpy and dusty but the view throughout the journey makes it worth it. We will separate from Pokhara road and turn to North from Dumre. We will leave the Khunde, Syange, Jagat and stop at Dharapani. Overnight.

Day 4: Dharapani to Chame (2,710m/8,891ft): 5 - 6 Hours

We trek to Chame is continue gradual ancient on the bank of Marsyangdi River all the way to final destinations for today. Chame is the district headquarters of Manang that is lying on side of blushing Marsyangdi River.The journey offers mesmerizing views of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna III for your entire day. It is so welcoming to deep your tired legs inside the hotspring. Overnight at Chame.

Day 5: Chame to Pisang (3,300m/10,824ft): 5 - 6 Hours

Trek to Pisang follows the narrow gorge of Marsyangdi river through dense forest. During the trek, you will get a chance to witness stunning mountains and varieties of flora and fauna. We have to climb for three hours before lunch rises above the 1500m from the riverbank. We stop for lunch at Punga Danda which is located on the huge sloping rocks. After lunch we gradually ancient through the pine forest. Overnight at Pisang.

Day 6: Pisang to Manang (3,519m/11,545ft): 6 - 7 Hours

There are twin trails that lead to Manang where we follow the upper trail through Geru village. Trek trail offers a mesmerizing view of the Annapurna, Pisang Peak, and amazing river valley. You will begin to notice a contrast in the landscape and vegetation from today. The weather is cold and dry make sure that you wearing insulation. We pass the upper Pisang and continue to Geru for lunch. The trails join the Barge Monastery known as the longest Monastery in Manang District. After a short visit to the Monastery continue to Manang overnight.

Day 7: Manang : Acclimatization Day

Today we hike up to the Gangapurna Glacier Lake to acclimatize. If you wish to attempt more altitudes there is another optional hike to Ice Lake. You can spend a day exploring Monastery, Himalayan rescue center, and short trek. After a short hike return to the hotel. Overnight at Manang.

Day 8: Manang to Yak Kharka (4,110m/13,484ft):3 - 4 Hours

Trek to Yakkhrakha climb through the glacial stream through the isolated villages and river valley. After Tenki village trail turns to the Jarsung Khola valley on the northwest. The trail passes Gunsa village the cluster of flat mud roofs. We continue the trek on the meadows where can witness the grazing horse and Yaks. Along the way, you will cross the wooden bridge and ancient mani wall. After a pleasant day reaches Yak Kharka; Overnight.

Day 9: Yakharka to Thorong Phedi (4,600m/15,092ft): 4 Hours

Trek ancient through suspension bridge pass Leader village that is a permanent village before reaching the Thorong Phedi. we cross-admiring river valley towering cliffs along with spectacular views on this journey. We continue to climb through towering cliffs and cross the wooden bridge before reaching the Through Phedi. The word Phedi refers to the foot of the mountain. After an amazing day overnight.

Day 10: Thorong Phedi to Muktinath (3800m/12,467ft) Via Thorong-La Pass (5416m/17,764): 8 - 9 Hours

Today is the major day to cross Thorong La pass that you set the dream for this trip. We wake up early in the morning to avoid the heavy wind on top. We trek to the east to the west direction that is the most popular way in terms of personal safety. We start ascents straight towards the summit in thinner air, the journey can be tough but worth it while reaching the top. After an amazing time at the top descending steeply to the Muktinath; overnight.

Day 11: Muktinath to Jomsom (2743m), 4 - 5 Hours / 3 Hours Drive

Before breakfast, we will visit the Muktinath Temple that is a popular pilgrimage site for Hindu and Buddhist devotees. We start descends to Ranipauwa pass Jharkot above the Kagbeni village. We will steep down through a barren hillside to the Kaligandaki River. You will walk the entire way to Jomsom. Jomsom is the Capital of Mustang where one can enjoy different thighs made by apple. The local Apple brandy that production in Marpha is popular all over Nepal and internationally. Overnight at Jomsom.

Day 12: Jomsom to Pokhara (8,22m/2,466ft) : 15 minute by Fly/ 8 - 9 Hours by Drive

Today we fly from Jomsom to Pokhara takes 45 minutes. Sped afternoon explore around Lakeside. Another option is driving to Pokhara via Tatopani, Beni takes 8-9 hours to Pokhara. Catch your final shopping and have a luxurious time. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 13: Kathmandu to Pokhara 8 - 9 Hours by Drive

After Breakfast, we travel to Kathmandu. You can rest on your own, catching final souvenir shopping and exploring the neighborhood. In the evening Ama Adventure organizes dinner to celebrate the success of our trip and overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 14: Departure

Today is the final day of our trip. The Ama Adventure representative drops you at the airport, wishes you a safe journey. Hopes to see you at the next adventure.

Weather Information

Peak season to travel to the Annapurna region falls between September and November and then again between February and April.

Temperatures average 70°F during the day at the start of the trek and get below 20°F towards the top of the trek. When trekking in the Annapurna region in the fall, expect clearer weather with a chance of rain in September and some snow in November. Early February trekkers may experience some snow, and a variety of flowers are in bloom in April.
