Island Peak, also known as Imja Tse, is located in the Everest region at Imja Valley, south of Dingboche village. It is a highly sought-after and well-renowned peak in the Everest region. Climbers who aspire to summit Mt. Everest often climb Island Peak first as part of their preparation. The peak is situated just behind the towering giants Everest and Lhotse, standing at a height of 6,189 meters. It is famous for its incredible view of Mt. Everest from the summit. Sir Edmund Hillary also climbed Island Peak before his historic ascent of Everest. This popular peak attracts hundreds of thousands of climbers from all over the world.
The trip to Island Peak can be combined with the Everest Base Camp trek and the Three Passes Trek, depending on your schedule and interests. Difficulty Level
Climbing Island Peak requires basic technical skills. The climb reaches high altitudes and requires a high level of physical exertion. Hikes can last from 5 to 10 hours, and significant elevation gain is common.

FAQ
You will get 3 healthy meals each day while climbing Island peak. Generally, you will have your breakfast, lunch, and dinner where you stay daily. Lunch will be provided at the teahouse along the way. While staying at the tented camps during the climb we will be served packed lunch along with tea or coffee. Breakfast and Dinner are freshly prepared by man climbing cooks. The meals contain fresh fruits and organic ingredients sourced from Kathmandu and local villages.
You do not require special technical mountaineering experience for Island Peak climbing as long as you are fit and strong enough to walk for several hours for several days on varied terrains. You may need to hold the ropes, use an ice pick, harness and iceboat on the slopes during the climb. Before arriving in Nepal we will provide instructions about the techniques for the climb. The gear and basic climbing skill training is also set aside one or today before the summit.
