Island Peak is located in the Everest region at Imja valley on the south of Denbuche village. It is also called Imja- Tse is a highly permitted and well-renowned peak in the Everest region. Those climbers who wish to climb Mt Everest in the future also climb Island peak. The peak is situated just behind the world’s tower Everest and Lhotse at the height of 6,189m. It is famous for its incredible view of Mt Everest from the top. Sir Edmond Hillary also climbed Mt Everest before summiting Everest. Its most popular peak in Everest is the reason for hundreds of thousand climbers from all over the world. 

The trip can be combined with the Everest Base Camp trek also with three passes as per your schedule and interest. The professional Climbing guide and proper climbing gear are most essential while climbing this peak. The structure of the route has been changed due to global warming from the last few years make be extra smart before choosing the company. Trip Departure

We book both solo and group travel for amazing experiences along with people from all over the world. Before departure, we reconfirm how many clients are recently in your group before signing up for the trekking. When a person signs up for the expeditions we guarantee all the group departure dates even if there is a single person on Island peak climbing.

Difficulty Level 

This Island’s peak climbing requirement is to have normal technical skills. This climbing may reach high altitudes and require a high level of physical exertion. Even though we hike for 5 to 10 hours we will gain significant elevation.

Itinerary

After arriving at the airport we will be welcomed by a representative of Ama adventure. Furthermore, check in to the hotel and you can explore the surroundings if you get free time. This evening we will have a meeting, briefing, and welcome dinner.  
After Breakfast, we start a tour around the world Heritage sites from  Swayambhunath that is a popular pilgrimage site for both Hindu and Buddhist devotees and known as the self-created stupa. Tour continues to Pashupatinath temple, a famous pilgrimage site for Hindu devotees. The day tour ends at the Boudhanath stupa, considered the largest stupa in South Asia.   
Early in the morning, we will fly to Lukla, which takes around 35 minutes. We start trekking to Phakding through some settlements, Farmland, and Buddhist Chorten. Trek also crosses th  couples of Suspension, stunning view, and leads on along the bank of the Dudhkoshi River. After a beautiful day overnight at Phakding.  
Today we trek to Namche Bazaar on the Bank of the Dudhkoshi river. We  pass the pine forest and that goes north up the Benkar village. After crossin  the suspension bridge over the Dudhkoshi river we will be reached at the Monjo villag  that is the entrance point of the Sagarmatha National park. They trek the multiple village-like Benker, Chumoa, Manjo, Jorasalle along with suspension bridges. After lunch the trail gets stepper but offers the first look of Everest and amazing river valley views and virtues of faunas. We finally reached Namche Bazaar overnight.  
Namche Bazaar is the primary administrative town for the Khumbu region with all facilities located west of the Dudh Koshi River. For Acclimatization, we Hike up to Sagarmatha National park to enjoy the spectacular view of (Chomolumba) Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Kongde, and many more. For gain, more altitude, and rest before the next ascent you can spend your day hiking to Everest viewpoint, an optional two-hour hike with an amazing view. Lunch will be in Khumjung, After Lunch a short visit around the village and back to Namche Bazar.  
After breakfast, we will start to climb near the Sagarmatha National park then continue to walk on the wider trail with an amazing backdrop of Mt. Everest and other snowy peaks. We pass the stunning rhododendron and pine forest to the Tengboche. After Kyanjuma we will continue to ascend to the upper Phunki  Thanka that is our lunch. After lunch I need to climb Phortse. The Phortse village & monastery is one of the old Monasteries. The Khumbu region offers panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. Upon arrival, I will visit Monastery to observe the religious chanting. After an amazing day overnight at Teahouse.  
Today we will start trekking through the incredible cliffsidewayy, a forest that looks amazing during spring when it gets blooming. We cross the suspension bridge above the Dudh Kosi River and continue to Pangboche. Then we continue to trek to Somare, which will be our lunch spot. After lunch the trail crosses the Lobuche river then turns right to Imja river valley. Dingboche is a small beautiful village with a farm of barley, potato, and buckwheat fields complete with animals grazing along the bank of Imjakhola. Finally, we reached Dingboche overnight.  
Trek to Chukung began along the bank of Imja Khola river valley through high altitude Yak Pasture Land with a stone-walled field. Along the way, we will pass the Bribe sphere of yaks where admirers of Stunning Mountains view as well as Glacier. The trek to Chhukung offers an amazing view of Ama Dablam, Amphu peaks, and the mysterious landscape of Imja Khola river valley. We will walk on the ice stream about an hour before our destination. After lunch, we will hike up to Chukung Ri for acclimatization. After an exciting hike, overnight.  
After breakfast, we will hike to Chhukung Ri (5,546m/18,190ft). The viewpoints offer a mesmerizing view of the world’s highest peaks including  Makalu, Lhotse, and other popular mountains Amadablam. It is great to witness the sun rays across the Imja  valley over the Himalayas. After an amazing hike back to the hotel. After lunch we will do a short training about island peak climbing technique .  
We will heading  to the Island peak base camp, which is on the bank of Imja lake. Before reaching BC there are two different ways, one is going to Amphu Labsta pass and another goes to Island BC.  We climb the moraine where the trail turns north to Imja Glacier moraine and continue to Island BC overnight at tent camp.
Early this morning we climbed up to Island peak with climbing gear, sacred places of this region that is a place to observe a panorama of the surrounding mountain from Island peak summit. After spending an amazing time at the top, bac  to Island base camp and continue to Chhukung; overnight.  
Today is an extra day because sometimes we can not summit. In these situation,s we have to go to a summit today.   
Today, we will have a late breakfast, then start trekking around 10 AM. Trek   to Pangboche via Dinboche,  overnight at Pangboche.  
Trek to the Namche Bazar continues the descent to theTengbochee, Phunki tanka and your trek leads through Khumbu valley. Bhote Koshi River, and beautiful forest. Meanwhile,back to Namche Bazaar is easier, and passing through rhododendron forest continues with a climb for an hour to the love Changsha . The walk to the Namche Bazaar is very scenic on a long winding path. Head back to Namche Bazaar overnight.      
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla is the last day of your trekking start with a steepdecent and mammals traffic where you are always on the safe side. Here, trekking passes through beautiful small villages such as the Jorsalle, Monjo, Phakding expecting for short ascent and continuing down the handrails of the Bhotekoshi River crossing it three times. Before reaching Lukla, you have to ascend a gentle slope for 45m to get to the final destination. After a long day, you must rest overnight at Lukla.  
After breakfast, hoping to get an early flight back to Kathmandu, the flight from Lukla to Kathmandu takes 35 minutes. Then drive back to Kathmandu hotel normally it takes a hours’ and then checking to Hotel and get a rest.  
Today is the second last day in Nepal, before departure.  If you need to buy something as a gift for family and friends.   
Today is the final day of our trip. The Ama Adventure representative drops you at the airport, wishes you a safe journey, and hopes to see you on your next adventure.

FAQ

Island Peak climb is recommended for beginners willing to step into the world of mountaineering. Climb Island peak requires experience of trekking in high altitudes. It is difficult to climb with extreme altitudes, a steep ascent, and thin air to breathe. The foot of the headwall is the hardest part of the climb. The climbing route is safe with fixed lines to the summit.
 
It is possible to climb island Peak all through the year but summertime is not recommended due to the heavy monsoon. Spring Autumn is considered to be the most suitable time of the year for any climbing journey in the Himalayas. Mera peak can also be attempted during the winter but the extreme cold could be challenging for those who are not experienced with high altitudes.
 
Obviously yes! In normal situations, our blocked trips are guaranteed to run. Your trip will continue even if your other travelers cancel the trip. Unless there is a situation that is out of control such as a political riot, natural disaster, pandemic, epidemic, or weather catastrophes, our trip is 100% guaranteed.

You will be traveling with a group with a similar interest unless you book for the private tour. You will be guided by experienced and professional local climbing instructors or who have been summit successfully multiple times. Your guide will provide you with important tips and teach you the tricks while assisting you from day one.
 
Even though it is known to be a trekking peak; It requires some mountaineering, Island peak is known to be a trekking peak that requires proper trekking gear and equipment. Please check the essential peak climbing equipment section.
 

You will get 3 healthy meals each day while climbing Island peak. Generally, you will have your breakfast, lunch,  and dinner where you stay daily. Lunch will be provided at the teahouse along the way. While staying at the tented camps during the climb we will be served packed lunch along with tea or coffee. Breakfast and Dinner are freshly prepared by man climbing cooks. The meals contain fresh fruits and organic ingredients sourced from Kathmandu and local villages.

While trekking in the lower region you will stay in available Tea Houses or lodges. During your climb, you will stay overnight in camping tents for 3, 4 nights. We will provide separate guest tents, Toilet tents, and Kitchen tents.
 

You do not require special technical mountaineering experience for Island  Peak climbing as long as you are fit and strong enough to walk for several hours for several days on varied terrains. You may need to hold the ropes, use an ice pick, harness and iceboat on the slopes during the climb. Before arriving in Nepal we will provide instructions about the techniques for the climb. The gear and basic climbing skill training is also set aside one or today before the summit.

Island peak is a mountain that is above 6,000m so we recommend having an insurance policy that covers evacuation at least up to the altitudes of 6,189m. We also recommend you get insured for medical issues, flight delays, cancellations, and other issues.
 
Yes, of course, you will need a climbing permit. The permit for the climbing was easily acquired through a registered and licensed agency. Each of them needed to purchase both the national park and climbing permits. Ama Adventure will arrange all the paperwork and climbing permits.
